Payment Options
Medicaid Waiver Programs
In Minnesota, Medicaid may help pay for assisted living through the following waiver programs. Eligibility is based on both financial and functional criteria.
Elderly Waiver (EW)
Provides home and community-based services for seniors aged 65 and older who meet nursing facility level of care.
CADI Waiver
Community Access for Disability Inclusion — supports individuals with physical disabilities aged 18–64 to live in the community.
BI Waiver
Brain Injury Waiver — helps individuals with an acquired or traumatic brain injury live in the community with appropriate supports.
